On Sunday, October 19th, Latina 50 Plus hosted its first networking event, Café Fuerté Mujeres Fuerté Event: Telling Our Stories at East Harlem Café in East Harlem NYC.  Our featured was Theresa Varela, author of Covering the Sun with my Hand.  Theresa gave a wonderful talk on how it felt to be publish as a Latina a50 Plus. After her presentation, invited guests were given the opportunity to share a personal story at the Open Mic.  The stories shared were ones that gave insight as to how they overcame challenges throughout their lives.  This was a well received event and others are being planned for the future.  We hope that you will join us.
